No front filter thread — the bulbous front element and fixed petal hood preclude standard filters (rear gelatin slot only). At 645g. 0.20m MFD.

The 14mm f/2.8 is Canon's widest rectilinear prime for full-frame: the 14mm perspective provides extreme wide-angle coverage for architecture, astrophotography, and interior photography where the widest possible field of view is required. The absence of a front filter thread means circular polarisers and standard NDs are unavailable — rear gel filters or no filters are the options.
