Dan's take: The 55V is in a bit of a weird spot for me. After years with the Leica Q series, the 38V gets my documentary work, and this mostly waits its turn. But sometimes - just sometimes - it's the only lens that'll do: it excels at the environmental portrait, and when I follow through on documenting the world, this is the lens I'll need.

Even now, I keep it. Because sometimes - just sometimes - it's the only lens that'll do.

I think it boils down to my dream of using the Hasselblad to document the world (too grandiose), perhaps by portraits, and this lens excels at the environmental portrait. My struggle is putting myself in the position to use it. But I'm not ready to let it go, because when I do follow through, this is the lens I'll need.
