The HP Photosmart 735 was a 3.2-megapixel digital compact released by Hewlett-Packard in 2003, part of the Photosmart camera range that HP paired with its Photosmart printers. It was a mainstream family camera, often sold bundled with a dock or printer, and offered as the 735xi dock bundle in some markets.

A 3.24-megapixel CCD captured images at 2088x1550 pixels behind a Pentax-branded 3x optical zoom equivalent to 38-114mm, extendable with 5x digital zoom. It had a 1.5-inch TFT LCD, a built-in flash, 16MB of internal memory plus an SD/MMC card slot, MPEG video recording with sound, and ran on two AA batteries with NiMH rechargeables recommended.

It suits collectors of early-2000s digicams and anyone curious about HP's short-lived camera line; the Pentax-sourced lens gave it respectable optics for its class. Operation is simple point-and-shoot with limited manual input, and the small dim screen and slow responsiveness reflect its era.

AA power keeps it usable today, but check the battery bay for corrosion and confirm the zoom extends smoothly. HP exited the camera business long ago, so no support or parts exist; verify the SD slot reads a card (small-capacity cards are safest) and inspect sample images for hot pixels or CCD streaking.
