The Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH. FLE II is the current-generation version of Leica's fastest 35mm M-mount prime, incorporating a Floating Lens Element (FLE) for improved close-focus performance. Summilux = f/1.4 class. ASPH. = aspherical element. Leica M mount.

f/1.4 maximum aperture. 35mm focal length (full-frame). ASPH. aspherical element. FLE (Floating Lens Element). 6-bit coding. Extended close-focus capability. Manual focus with rangefinder coupling. At approximately 300g. 46mm filter thread. Leica M mount.

The FLE system uses a floating element that adjusts with focus distance to maintain peak optical performance at close focus — the distance where fast wide lenses typically degrade most. The current ASPH. FLE II formula supersedes earlier 35mm Summilux variants (pre-ASPH., 1st ASPH., FLE I). At f/1.4 this is the fastest standard prime in the M-mount lineup.
