Mid-range Minolta i-series AF film SLR from 1988 with predictive AF and three-zone metering — the Maxxum 5000i in North America.

The Minolta Dynax 5000i (Maxxum 5000i in North America, 1988) is a mid-range 35mm AF SLR from Minolta's 'i-series' range. Like the 7000i, it features the Creative Expansion Card system for additional shooting programs, though with fewer manual controls than the 7000i.

35mm AF SLR, Minolta A-mount, multi-point AF with predictive focus, multi-mode AE (P/A/S/M), built-in pop-up flash, top shutter speed 1/2000s, Creative Expansion Card slot.

The 5000i offers solid AF and metering performance in a more compact body than the 7000i. The Creative Expansion Card system adds shooting program flexibility. The Minolta A-mount ecosystem (including Sony Alpha A-mount glass) is extensive. As a film SLR for Minolta A-mount glass, the 5000i provides practical performance at a modest price.
