The Micro-Nikkor-P Auto 55mm f/3.5 is Nikon's classic macro standard for the F system, introduced in the early 1960s. The P code marks its element count, and the Micro designation is Nikon's term for macro. It was designed for high sharpness and flat-field rendering at close distances, serving copy work, scientific documentation and general macro photography.

This is a manual-focus Nikon F lens with a maximum aperture of f/3.5 and a fixed 55mm focal length, with an automatic diaphragm and an extended helicoid for close focusing.
