The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO was released in 2021 as the PRO-tier wide-to-standard zoom for Micro Four Thirds, covering a 16-50mm full-frame equivalent range with constant f/4 aperture and weather sealing. At 411g and 72mm filter thread it is moderately sized for an MFT PRO zoom. Seven circular aperture blades. Weather sealing is built throughout for use in adverse conditions.

The optical design uses 16 elements in 10 groups with DSA, aspherical, ED, super ED, and high-refraction elements for wide-angle corrections. Seven circular aperture blades. The 72mm filter thread is the Olympus PRO zoom standard. At 411g the lens is moderate for a PRO MFT zoom. Minimum focus distance of approximately 0.23m. Constant f/4 aperture throughout. Weather sealing at multiple barrel locations.

The 16-50mm equivalent at constant f/4 covers the practical range from ultra-wide interior and landscape framing through standard documentary perspective without aperture change. The 8mm start — 16mm equivalent — enables field-of-view coverage that the 12-40mm PRO or 12-100mm PRO cannot reach. PRO-tier weather sealing enables use in rain and dust conditions for outdoor professional work.

On the used market the M.Zuiko 8-25mm f/4 PRO is affordable as a weather-sealed MFT wide zoom.
