The Panasonic Lumix G9 II was released approximately 2023 as the second-generation G9, significantly upgraded from the G9 I with a new 25.2MP stacked BSI MFT CMOS sensor, phase-detect on-sensor AF, and 5.5K open-gate video. Designed for photography and video hybrid use. Micro Four Thirds mount.

The stacked sensor is the defining hardware advancement over the G9 I: faster readout reduces rolling shutter and enables the phase-detect AF system that the G9 I lacked. The 5.5K open-gate mode captures full sensor area for downsampled 4K delivery. The 7.5-stop IBIS is among the highest rated in the MFT system.

On the used market the Panasonic Lumix G9 II is a professional-grade MFT hybrid camera for stills and video. Condition checks: subject AF accuracy (test with moving subjects), IBIS function, dual SD slot contacts, 5.5K recording function, body weather sealing. The G9 I is the predecessor with slower contrast-only AF.
