The SMC Pentax-M 55mm f/1.8 is a standard normal prime from Pentax's M series, slightly longer than the conventional 50mm for a marginally more telephoto-normal perspective. The M-series lenses are known for their compact build and Pentax's Super Multi Coating.

55mm focal length, f/1.8 maximum aperture, SMC (Super Multi Coated), Pentax K bayonet mount, compact M-series design, 49mm filter thread.

The M 55mm f/1.8 is an excellent normal prime for film and digital Pentax K-mount photography. At f/1.8 the rendering is smooth and characteristic of the M-series; by f/2.8 sharpness is excellent across the field. The 55mm focal length gives a marginally longer normal perspective than 50mm. Compatible with all K-mount bodies.
