Rollei's compact autofocus 35mm film camera — a rare AF compact from the early 1980s with 38mm f/2.8 lens.

The Rollei 35 AF was delivered from October 2024 as a new 35mm film compact camera — a modern reinterpretation of the classic 1966 Rollei 35, developed by MiNT Camera under the Rollei brand license. The defining feature is LiDAR autofocus (0.7m to infinity), the first LiDAR AF system in a 35mm compact. Fixed 35mm f/2.8 lens. At 242g it is compact. A built-in flash is included.

LiDAR autofocus is the Rollei 35 AF's engineering innovation: the 1966 original used zone focusing only, and most 35mm film compacts use infrared or passive phase-detect AF systems with limited precision. The LiDAR system provides direct distance measurement for accurate focus in low light and on low-contrast subjects where passive and IR AF systems struggle. The 35mm f/2.8 provides the same perspective as the original Rollei 35's Tessar optic in a new compact body.
