The Samsung NX 20-50mm f/3.5-5.6 ED appeared in 2010 as an alternative slimline kit zoom for the NX100 and related bodies, packaged as a retractable pancake-style zoom rather than the fuller-sized 18-55mm option sold alongside it.

It mounts natively to Samsung's APS-C NX system and covers a 30-75mm full-frame-equivalent range at f/3.5-5.6, using ED glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration. The barrel collapses for storage and extends to shoot, keeping the lens notably short when not in use.

Starting at 20mm rather than a wider setting makes it less suited to interiors or landscapes than the 18-55mm kit lens, favoring travel snapshots and portrait-length framing instead. Samsung later updated the design as the ED II version with revised coatings.

This lens now appears only in the used market, generally sold alongside secondhand NX bodies since Samsung exited cameras in 2015. Confirm the collapsing mechanism locks and extends cleanly, as retractable zoom barrels are prone to looseness or jamming with age.
