Tokina's updated APS-C ultra-wide — constant f/4 from 12-24mm with improved coatings.

The Tokina AT-X 12-24mm f/4 Pro DX II is the second-generation version of Tokina's constant f/4 APS-C ultra-wide zoom, updating the original AT-X 124 Pro DX with revised optics and improved mechanics. Designed for Nikon DX (APS-C) DSLRs. Nikon F mount.

f/4 constant aperture. 12-24mm zoom range (approximately 18-36mm equivalent on APS-C). Approximately 16 elements in 11 groups. 77mm filter thread. At approximately 500g. Internal zoom — lens length stays constant during zoom. Nikon F mount.

The constant f/4 across the zoom range ensures consistent exposure without aperture compensation during zoom adjustments, an advantage for video and for metered stills workflows at varying focal lengths. The internal zoom (IF) design keeps overall lens length constant during zooming, preventing front element extension and maintaining consistent handling ergonomics. The AT-X 124 design was widely used for landscape and interior architectural photography.
