Viltrox's budget portrait prime for APS-C mirrorless — 84mm equivalent at f/1.7 with fast AF.

The Viltrox AF 56mm f/1.7 is an autofocus APS-C prime for Fujifilm X-mount, released in April 2024, providing an 85.6mm full-frame equivalent perspective at f/1.7. At 171g and 52mm filter thread it is lightweight for a fast portrait focal length. STM autofocus motor provides quiet, smooth AF suited to video recording. The optical formula uses 4 ED elements and 3 high-refractive-index elements to control aberration at f/1.7.

The optical design uses 11 elements in 9 groups including 4 ED and 3 high-refractive-index elements. Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth bokeh. The 52mm filter thread is compact. At 171g the lens is lightweight. Minimum focus distance of 0.55m. STM autofocus motor with by-wire manual focus. f/1.7 maximum aperture. APS-C image circle.
