The lens has no autofocus motor — all focusing is manual with electronic contacts for EXIF recording and focus peaking. The aperture ring can be de-clicked with an included tool-operated screw for smooth video aperture pulls. At 320g and 52mm filter thread it is compact.

The optical design uses 6 elements in 4 groups (classic symmetrical Planar formula). Ten rounded aperture blades produce circular bokeh across a wide range of apertures. The 52mm filter thread is compact. At 320g the lens is lightweight. Minimum focus distance of 0.45m. Manual focus only — no AF motor.
