The Zeiss Planar T* 85mm f/1.4 ZF is a fast portrait prime from Zeiss's standard ZF (Nikon F) lens line. ZF = Nikon F mount, no CPU contacts (vs the later ZF.2 which adds CPU contacts). Manual focus. Nikon F mount.

f/1.4 maximum aperture. 85mm focal length (full-frame). Planar optical formula. T* anti-reflection coating. Manual focus. ZF (no CPU contacts). At approximately 620g. 72mm filter thread. Nikon F mount.

The ZF variant lacks CPU electronic contacts — the camera cannot automatically read aperture data, limiting some metering modes on modern Nikon bodies. The later ZF.2 added CPU contacts for full electronic communication. Both variants are optically identical. Manual focus for both. AI-coupled for compatible Nikon metering.
