The Nikon AF Nikkor 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 is a consumer-grade standard zoom from Nikon's early AF DSLR and 35mm film era, released approximately 1993. Designed as a step-up kit zoom covering wide to short telephoto, it was positioned below the professional AF 28-70mm f/2.8D in the Nikon lineup. Nikon F mount.

f/3.5-4.5 variable aperture. Nikon F mount. Body-motor-driven AF (no AF-S silent wave motor in lens). 62mm filter thread. At approximately 285g. No VR. Close focus approximately 0.38m.

As a consumer zoom from this generation, the 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 uses a body-driven screw AF mechanism rather than the in-lens AF-S motor.
