Revolutionary Sony NEX-5 that proved compact mirrorless was viable, launching the E-mount ecosystem in 2010.

The Sony NEX-5 is the original Sony APS-C compact mirrorless — one of the first interchangeable-lens cameras to combine an APS-C sensor with a genuinely compact body (2010). Launched the NEX system. Sony E mount.

The NEX-5 was a landmark product — proving that APS-C sensor quality could be packaged in a genuinely pocket-friendly body. The Sony E mount established a lens ecosystem that evolved into the full-frame FE system. An historically significant compact mirrorless.
